Upcoming Samsung Galaxy Xcover Pro (SM-G715F) bags Wi-Fi certification

Samsung has kept its faith in its rugged Xcover series of handsets throughout many years. As per an earlier report, courtesy of XDA, the next member of this series is the SM-G715F. Regardless of the similarities with the Samsung Galaxy A71, the SM-G715F is an Xcover phone, which is completely a different series.

A recent tweet from XDA Developers Editor-in-Chief Mishaal Rahman had claimed that the Samsung SM-G715F could be the Galaxy Xcover Pro smartphone and it will come to European markets preinstalled with Android 10 OS.

Moreover, the same phone appeared at the Wi-Fi Alliance, which indicates the nearby upcoming launch of the device. According to the document, there will be at least two versions of namely SM-G715FN in Europe and SM-G715D at the international level. Both of the versions will reportedly operate on Android 10. Also, these versions will support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi.

Samsung had released the Galaxy Xcover 4 smartphone earlier this year. It arrived as an entry-level phone with IP67 certified waterproof and dust-resistant frame. Hence, the possibility of Samsung Xcover Pro smartphone to be a budget-friendly phone arriving with an IP67/68 rated frame cannot be denied.

Interestingly, Geekbench spotted the upcoming Samsung SM-G715FN. The listing revealed that it had scored 348 and 1242 respectively in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench 5. As per the leak, Exynos 9611 SoC powers it and is having 4GB of RAM.

Unfortunately, that is all about the information that a Wi-Fi alliance certification can provide. From all of the above information, we can say that Xcover will be yet another mid-ranger device that is budget-friendly. As information is scarce, we need to wait a bit more for further details.
