HIGHLIGHTS

  • Realme 5i has received the Wi-Fi Alliance certification
  • As per the certification, the device will operate on Android Pie
  • Realme 5i said to receive mandatory BIS certification in India

Expectedly, Realme is very soon going to add a new member to the Realme 5 series after the launching of Realme 5i earlier this month. A yet-to-be-announced Realme phone, tipped to debut as Realme 5i, which is having the model number as RMX2030 has received Wi-Fi alliance certification, pointing towards the fact that, the phone is launching very soon.

Moreover, Thailand’s NBTC, India’s BIS, and Indonesia’s TKDN certified Realme 5i for having Wi-Fi alliance, which gives a very strong hint that the phone will be launching in India too along with the other couple of countries. On the contrary, no guaranteed or concrete information regarding Realme 5i has surfaced online.

Realme 5i’s listing mentions:

  1. Model Number: RMX2030
  2. Realme 5i will run on Android Pie
  3. Firmware version: RMX2030EX_11-A.08_191130
  4. It can support Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac standard
  5. Compatible with 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands

Interestingly, while the phone’s Wi-Fi certification did not mention its name, but the NBTC certification mentions the model number and model name as RMX2030 and Realme 5i respectively.

As the name suggests. Realme 5i will be another edition of the Realme 5i series and is expectedly the affordable version of Realme 5. Moreover, Realme did something similar with Realme 3 too, when it launched Realme 3i, a toned-down version of Realme 3, which went official in July.

Unfortunately, details regarding Realme 5i are very scarce as of now, but we may see it go official later this month alongside the XT 730G and Realme’s truly wireless earphones in India.
